Dr. Reid L. Chaney
Education & Continuing Education
Originally from Kannapolis, NC, Dr. Chaney attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill for his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and minor in chemistry. He proceeded to Boston University School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine. As the dental profession is constantly evolving, Dr. Chaney understands the importance of remaining up to date on new dental technology and materials. He has completed courses in occlusion through the Dawson Academy and is certified in both Invisalign® clear aligner treatment and Lumineers® veneers.
Outside the Office
Dr. Chaney resides in Concord, NC with his wife Ashelea, son Colson, and daughter Baylor. His free time is spent playing golf, traveling, visiting with friends and family, and attending UNC sports events.
Being able to help others is very important to Dr. Chaney, whether it is with his family, church, community, or professional relationships. He believes that, as a dentist, he should use his abilities as much as possible to help those with dental needs. To that end, he is a volunteer with the Community Free Clinic and Give Kids a Smile.

Dr. John T. Sitaras

Dr. John Sitaras is a first generation Greek American, born and raised in Charlotte, NC. His parents and extended family immigrated to the United States from Greece in the late 1970’s. As a Charlotte native, Dr. John graduated from Myers Park High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, graduating with degrees in both accounting and finance. After graduation, he worked as a certified public accountant in the Charlotte area for five years before deciding to pursue a different career path into dentistry. Following his desire and passion to enter the health care field, Dr. John attended the UNC Adams School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, NC, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2019. After graduation, he returned back to his home city of Charlotte and worked as a general dentist for three years prior to joining the Smile Cabarrus family.
Dr. John is a member of the American Dental Association and North Carolina Dental Society since graduating dental school. He continues to broaden his experience by joining and taking continuing education courses through various organizations such as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in addition to Spear education. Dr. John considers himself very fortunate to have chosen dentistry as his new profession and looks forward to serving his community and their dental needs and building lasting relationships with all his patients.
Outside the Office
Dr. John lives in Charlotte, NC. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, running, and biking, and attending local sporting events in the Charlotte area. He is an avid martial arts enthusiast and enjoys traveling when he has the opportunity. Every summer he loves to visit his beloved grandparents who still reside in Greece!

Brittany S.
Brittany has been an DAII/Expanded Function Dental Assistant since 2016, and with Smile Cabarrus since April of 2022. She graduated from RCCC with not only a DAII Certification, but an associate degree in Medical Office Administration. She spent 5 years working in public health dentistry where she used her skills and knowledge to give back to the community and volunteer for multiple free dental clinics. In 2020 she graduated from Siena Heights University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Management. She thrives on always improving her education to better treat and educate her patients. Brittany is not only one of Dr. Chaney’s assistants, but she is also our Social Media/Marketing Extraordinaire! When not in the office, Brittany enjoys interior decorating, organizing, crafting, and baking, On the weekends you may find her spending time on the lake with her husband, fishing, or riding stand up paddleboards!
Iraj
Iraj started her dental assisting career upon graduating from CPCC in 2018. She joined our team in August of 2023 and makes it her mission to improve your day. She enjoys trying out new restaurants, exploring hiking trails, cosmetology and traveling near and far. She enjoys getting to know each of her patients personally while providing a comfortable environment in which they receive their dental care.
Lauren
Lauren attended the Dental Assisting Academy to become a dental assistant in 2022. We were thrilled to have her join our team in 2023. Lauren challenges herself to continually learn and improve upon her skill set so she can provide the very best care for her patients. Lauren loves to get warm and cozy, while enjoying a good mystery book curled up on the couch. When she isn’t reading she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking or golfing with her husband.
Allison
Allison graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2024 with plans to go to dental school to become a dentist. She worked with us in the summer of 2023 in sterilization and is excited to be a part of the team this year to learn the assisting side of dentistry and direct patient care. On the weekends you can find her spending time with family and friends, going on runs in new places, and watching Carolina basketball!

Michele
Michele has been a friendly face at Smile Cabarrus since 2011 and has over 20 years of dental experience. She has worked as our Hygiene/Treatment and Insurance Coordinator before taking on her current role as office administrator. Michele enjoys interacting and building relationships with our patients and staff. When not in the office, you can find her spending time with her son, close friends, crafting or quite possibly at a Bon Jovi concert!
Jo Lynn
Jo Lynn’s smiling face and warm welcome are the first things you will encounter upon entering Smile Cabarrus. She may look familiar to some of you since she worked at our Concord location (Zsambeky, Chaney & Associates) years ago. We were fortunate enough to have her come back “home” after a few years absence. She has been in dentistry for over 20 years and brings with her a wealth of knowledge. In her spare time Jo Lynn loves to spend time with her husband, Mason, and her very spoiled Shitzu, Max.
Rikki
Rikki was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio but has been calling Kannapolis home since 2013. Rikki may look familiar to many of you, she started with Smile Cabarrus in 2016 and then transferred to our Smile Kannapolis office for a few years. Fortunately for all of us, she is now back in Harrisburg, and we couldn’t be happier! Rikki has over 20 years’ experience in the dental field. Rikki’s favorite part of the day is interacting with her patients and making them smile, but she also specializes in dental insurance. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, reading novels, taking long walks, exploring social media for her daily dose of amusement and spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
Didi
Passionate about the overall health and wellness of others, Didi’s background is rich in the medical and dental fields. Prior to her dental administrative and finance background, she also has experience in Ultrasound Repair, Dental X-ray Customer Service, and teaching yoga. Outside of the office, you can find Didi enjoying hikes in nature, reading, yoga and spending time with her loved ones.

Her favorite part of dentistry is taking care of her patient’s dental needs, and establishing relationships with them! Donna has two amazing children, Kayla who is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Blake who is a Cardiac Rehab nurse. She also has a fur baby, a beagle named Sasha. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling. Donna is very active at her church, Jackson Park Baptist, and finds great joy in serving others on mission trips in the US and abroad. Being a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, Donna definitely LOVES HER CAROLINA TARHEELS!!!
Makayla
Makayla began her dental career in 2020 as she graduated from the dental assisting program at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Makayla worked at and absolutely enjoyed working with children at a pediatric office before joining our team at Smile Cabarrus. Makayla continues to love working with children but she had a desire to expand her knowledge base to general dentistry so that she can help patients of any age. We are so lucky that Smile Cabarrus is the practice she has chosen to grow with! You will see Makayla’s friendly face and contagious smile as she works closely with our hygienists during your wellness visits. When she is not taking x-rays, flossing or polishing your teeth you can find Makayla at the beach soaking up the sun or having fun with her friends and family.
Emily
Emily has been a registered dental hygienist since 2010 and with Smile Cabarrus since 2021. Emily’s passion for dentistry is clear as she strives to give each patient that she interacts with deeper understanding of their oral health. Emily radiates sunshine…she thrives on giving every patient a positive experience at Smile Cabarrus with her calming personality and thoughtful nature. Emily is married and has one son. Outside of the office she enjoys making joyful, long lasting memories with her family and friends.

She prides herself on making them feel comfortable during their dental visits. When not at work, some of Brittany’s hobbies include bee keeping, playing pickleball, and spending time with family, friends, & her dog Georgia!
